Counselor in Training
(8th thru 11th grades)
In addition to our very successful Teen Tour Programs, we provide a special Counselor-In-Training Program for campers who are entering 8th thru 11th grades.
CITs are campers at West Hills and are offered a vast array of camp activities that rotate on a daily basis to ensure that every CIT gets to enjoy the many activities we have to offer at West Hills. Our day begins with a brief meeting to preview the daily CIT activities and events. Every day our CITs have a full hour of swim time including exclusive use of our diving boards, “Big Blue” water slide and AquaClimb wall. All CITs have a common lunch period each and every day so that they have even more time to socialize with their peers.
What makes our program special and unique is the part of the day when our CITs spend time with experienced group leaders and/or specialists learning how to work with children and how to work as a team. Seeing our 8th-11th grade CITs as they hold hands and play with the young campers at West Hills is truly a vision of what our program is all about. All of this plus a CIT late night, CIT overnight trip, CIT mystery trips, CIT Olympic events and more help make this the #1 CIT program in the camp industry!
It is our hope that someday our CITs will return to West Hills as regular employees in our ever-expanding programs. This is a special program and can only accommodate a limited number of applicants on a first come first serve basis.
- Program includes door-to-door transportation, snacks, and CIT shirts. Special activities, such as a late night & two off-campus trips are provided throughout the summer.
NOTE: Completion of the CIT Program does not guarantee future employment
